At Work Nights, volunteers use their time and talents to prepare cradles and keepsakes for grieving families—offering the love of Christ through every stitch, tag, and box packed. Sewing skills are welcome but not required; there’s a place for everyone to serve.

At Work Nights, volunteers prepare cradles and memory keepsakes for grieving families. Sewers stitch lace, charms, and crosses onto cradles, while non-sewers assist with tagging, threading ribbon, laminating hospital sheets, sorting supplies, and packing boxes. We also enjoy fellowship, good snacks, and light worship music as we serve grieving families together.
Yes, absolutely! There are plenty of meaningful ways to help even if you don’t sew. From tagging cradles and keepsakes to threading ribbon, sorting supplies, laminating, and packing boxes—there’s a place for everyone to serve.
You don’t need to bring anything—just yourself and a heart for serving. Some sewers like to bring their own sewing kit, but we provide all the materials, including thread, needles, and cradle supplies. We also have snacks and water available, though many volunteers bring their own drink.
Work Nights are designed for adults, and we kindly ask that young children stay home due to safety concerns and the sensitive nature of our work. High school students are welcome to serve independently, and middle schoolers may attend with a parent. Because many of our volunteers are grieving mothers, we aim to create a peaceful and compassionate environment for everyone.
Yes—absolutely! The more, the merrier. We’d love for you to invite friends or a group to join you; just make sure each person fills out their own RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
Yes, we provide plenty of snacks to enjoy during the evening, though we don’t serve a full dinner. For each Work Night, a few volunteers sign up in advance to bring snacks for that specific evening, and we’re so grateful for their generous donation of food. If you’d like to participate, you’ll receive more details by email after you RSVP.
We’re located in Kechi, Kansas—just a few minutes north of Wichita. After you register, you’ll receive our exact address along with parking details in your confirmation email.
Yes! Our Work Nights also serve as a project exchange point. You’re welcome to stop by anytime between 6–8 PM during a Work Night to drop off completed cradles or pick up a new home helper or sewing project. Please RSVP in advance so we can have your materials ready—it's the same form used to sign up for the Work Night.
